The Nanny Goat Hill Community Garden is located at the corner of Laurier and Bronson, right in the midst of Centretown Ottawa. The garden started in 2000, and has grown to be home to over one hundred plots.

The Nanny Goat Hill Community Garden is a non-profit whose aim is to give access to gardening and food to those in the neighbourhood without other access to a space to garden. We do collect a nominal annual membership fee from our gardeners to help cover maintenance expenses.

Nanny Goat Hill is supported by Just Food and the City of Ottawa. The garden is run completely by volunteers.

If you are interested in joining the garden, you can fill out a form each year to enter our lottery system. The lottery typically opens mid to late winter of the current year. Registration links will be available on the NGH website and the Facebook page. Email inquiries for registration to the lottery will not be considered, only entries made using the form will be eligible.

If you are not successful this year, you are encouraged to enter the lottery again next year. Be aware that there is usually high demand and low turnover. We’re always trying to find ways to grow the garden to include as many people as possible. In the meantime, we encourage you to follow us on Facebook for our NGH events opened to the community at large.

We always welcome volunteers in the garden, if you would like to get involved, please email nangoathillgarden@gmail.com.

Happy gardening!
