The Nanny Goat Hill Community Garden is located at the corner of Laurier and Bronson, right in the midst of Centretown Ottawa. The garden started in 2000, and has grown to be home to over one hundred plots.
Nanny Goat Hill is a non-profit whose aim is to give access to gardening and food to those in the neighbourhood without other access to a space to garden. The garden also plays host to Good Food Markets that happen roughly every second Saturday throughout the spring and summer.
The garden is run completely by volunteers. All of our gardeners help out how they can.
If you are interested in joining the garden, you can fill out a form to enter our lottery system. We will accept new entries until May 1st of each year, and then notify successful entrants shortly afterwards. If you are not successful this year, you are encouraged to enter the lottery again next year. Be warned that there is usually high demand and low turnover. We’re always trying to find ways to grow the garden to include as many people as possible.
Keep an eye on the blog for important announcements.
